Shop Shots - J105 GP bottom
Below are shots of a recently performed J105 project for a West Coast client. This is a full-bore no-excuses bottom job heading for one of the fastest growing 105 fleets in the country. We hope to update the site with some great race results for this yacht in the near future.
Fresh in from TPI the new 105 awaits a slot in the shop to begin her prep.
The keel gets a total templating. Jim's posture gives you an idea of just how much fun this work is, but there is no one better at it. Soup to nuts this bottom job will entail roughly 100 man hours of labor, and over a thousand dollars in materials. The owner will not however, have to contemplate his bottom as a liability.
The rudder gets no less attention than the keel
An intake thru-hull gets a little love.
Earlier pages referred to centerline speedo installations and their importance to allowing an instrument system to generate a viable true-wind resolution. This B&G casing rests dead on the V of the yacht's entry.
The speedo casing install seen from the inside.
The finished yacht moves outside once again to be loaded for departure.
The keel, finished of James' ministrations.
Ready to move out for the left coast.
